Arguments against women in the military include the idea that women can't fight as well as men, which is described in page 2 of the article. But with a gun in hand, when do any of our soldiers have to fight hand to hand. Anyone can pull a trigger, including well trained monkeys. Soldiers are soldiers and if women want to risk their lives to protect the country, who is to stop them?
Politically speaking, conservatives are probably going to side with McCain while Liberals will side with the democratic nominee, although neither Hillary nor Obama have taken a stance on this issue. Women's rights activists will undoubtedly protest McCain's views, but there are women who agree with the stance that women should not fight in the military. Therefore, I'm going to predict that this issue will not be as important in the general election as the other issues, such as the economy and the occupation in Iraq.

it's probably not a big deal, but if women were refused to join the navy or army or air force then i would have a problem with it. one of my favorite professors was in the air force, through them, she had the chance to work for NASA and build satellite for space launches. she's brilliant and may not have gotten the chance to do so due to financial or experience restraints.
personally, i think that during combat, a woman may be more prone to psychological disorders than men. perhaps that happens because as girls they're protected from aggression and violence (not to the same exposure as boys)? i digress...
women are sensitive, they will not be able to deal with the psychological effects of war
I wouldn't say that women's sensitivity relative to men's would make them less likely to be able to pull the trigger in all cases, but if there are women out there on the battlefield that are actually mothers, I wouldn't find it outlandish to suggest that it would be hard for them to kill someone else's son or daughter, with them having their own son or daughter they had given birth to. But I think the idea that women shouldn't be allowed to voluntarily put themselves in an equal position with men in the military is discriminatory and treats women as inferior to men.
